Washington, DC (July 5, 2016) — McDermott+Consulting announced today that Piper Su has joined as vice president. Ms. Su brings with her more than 15 years of experience assisting clients with legislative and policy strategies related to Medicare, Medicaid and private sector challenges concerning coverage, reimbursement and care delivery.
Prior to joining McDermottPlus, Ms. Su led the health policy division for a leading research and technology firm, offering an on-the-ground perspective on how providers and other stakeholders relate to key policy and market trends. She also worked as a senior lawyer at large law firms in the field of health care law and policy, assisting providers, insurers, and drug and device manufacturers with formal legal advice as well as legislative and regulatory strategies for Congress, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Ms. Su enhances McDermottPlus’s already strong lobbying and policy capabilities with her years of Senate experience. In her role as Senator Ken Salazar’s principal advisor in health-care-related Senate Finance Committee activities, Ms. Su advanced policy proposals enacted into legislation that included the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007; the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008; and the Affordable Care Act. Ms. Su brings both extensive policy experience and strong advocacy to McDermottPlus clients.
