Position Summary:
The Credit Manager supports the Senior Collections Manager in the Firm’s Credit & Collections operations and ensures best practices and process improvements. This position leads, trains, and motivates collection staff, and assesses credit risk with software tools, payment histories, and industry trends for the firm’s public and private clients. The Credit Manager alerts billing partners, and firm management of clients with high credit risk or degrading credit scores to mitigate write-offs. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
– Partner with the Senior Collections Manager to manage the receivables and performance metrics of the collections team including hiring, onboarding, training, escalation, negotiation and fostering positive relationships
– Monitor and advise regarding credit scoring of the firm’s clients with credit and collection software
– Provide guidance to collection staff and practice group directors on the backlog watchlist
– Conduct bi-weekly collection file reviews of collection staff
– Refer accounts to collections agencies, as needed
– Drive collections process improvements to decrease past due accounts and the DCO (Days Collections Outstanding)
– Improve collections performance in areas of 270 days plus aged accounts receivable

Job Specifications:
– Bachelor’s degree
– At least seven (7) years of related work experience
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
– Advanced knowledge of collections processes and best practices
– Knowledge of credit analysis and credit principles
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Strong organizational skills
– Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
– Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
– Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
