Medicare Changes Wage Index Reclassification Criteria

Hospitals that qualify for Medicare wage index reclassification grew concerned when the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services proposed to change the qualification criteria, a change that would deny nearly 250 hospitals around the country of millions of dollars.  When CMS finalized the change, the hospitals looked to our consultants for help.  Through coordinated and strategic lobbying, our consultants advanced legislative changes requiring the Medicare agency to reverse course and restore the original reclassification criteria.  Today, 250 hospitals thank our team for protecting their Medicare payments valued at more than $375 million annually.
